2048 is a simple yet highly challenging number puzzle game. Played on a 4x4 grid, the player slides all tiles in one direction using swipe or arrow keys. When two tiles with the same number collide, they merge into one tile with the sum of their numbers. The objective is to create a tile with the number 2048. Although the rules are easy to understand, every move requires careful planning, as a wrong slide can fill the grid and end the game. There is no time limit, allowing players to think at their own pace. Originally created by Gabriele Cirulli in 2014, 2048 quickly became a worldwide classic.
Players slide all tiles on the grid in one of four directions. After each move, a new tile with a value of 2 or 4 appears in a random empty cell. When two tiles of the same number collide, they merge into a single tile with double the value. The goal is to reach the 2048 tile, but players can continue to achieve higher scores. The game ends when the grid is full and no adjacent tiles can be merged. Key strategies include keeping the largest tile in a corner, avoiding random moves, and prioritizing merging smaller tiles.
Desktop: Use arrow keys (up, down, left, right) to slide tiles. Mobile: Swipe on the screen to control direction. Fullscreen mode is available for a more immersive experience.
