The ultimate goal is to unlock the cage holding the dog and bring it back to its owner. Players control a sword-wielding warrior through side-scrolling stages. Each level is filled with enemies and traps; the warrior must jump over gaps, slash foes, and avoid hazards like spikes and pits. Defeating enemies requires timing and sometimes multiple hits. Items and coins can be collected along the way. At the end of each level, the player must find a key or activate a switch to open the cage holding the dog. Touching the dog completes the level. The warrior has a health bar that depletes upon taking damage; if it runs out, the player restarts from a checkpoint. The game spans multiple levels with increasing difficulty, introducing new enemy types and more complex platforming sequences.
