Long Live the King!

Long Live the King! is a puzzle-adventure game set during the French Revolution. In late 18th century France, the bourgeoisie rose to power, executing thousands of opponents of the revolution by guillotine, including aristocrats and clergy. Power and wealth were concentrated among the rich, while ordinary people gained neither new rights nor a better life. They rebelled and decided to secretly free the king, avoiding bloodshed. Players take on the role of a royalist, infiltrating a heavily guarded prison, using environmental objects and mechanisms, avoiding guards' sight, and ultimately rescuing the king. The game immerses players in the tense atmosphere of that turbulent era through historical events and puzzle design.

Players control a character moving in 2D scenes, interacting with objects via click or keyboard. Core gameplay involves puzzle-solving and stealth: observe guard patrol routes, use crates and shadows as cover, collect keys and tools to unlock doors and mechanisms. Each level features different puzzles and guard layouts. Players must plan optimal routes to avoid triggering alarms. Successfully rescuing the king completes the level.
