Devil's Gate
Devil's Gate is a platformer game where players guess trap locations on maps to avoid death, testing rationality and reflexes with each critical step.
Somebody lost their needles in a haystack, and it is a really big haystack. You take a beeping metal detector and dig: the closer you get, the faster it beeps. Golden needles and cursed needles are in there too, and the album has room for 48 odd needles. Selling hay pays for better tools, and research unlocks Fork Arms, conveyor belts, magnet scanners, balers, vacuum towers and drones so a hay factory can eat a 286,000-bundle haystack for you. You can also level up your barn, hit milestones, claim daily rewards, and come back to a factory that kept working while you were away.
Digging is guided by sound. Move through the haystack and listen to the metal detector: the faster it beeps, the closer you are to a needle. The hay you dig can be sold, and the money buys better tools. Research adds machines that take over digging and hay handling, so the work shifts from manual digging to a factory that processes the haystack for you. Odd needles fill your album, while barn levels, milestones and daily rewards give the digging longer-term goals. The factory keeps running while you are away.
