Patronichi is a free sandbox simulation game developed by cutegamesclub, created as a way to interact with patrons. Players can create and customize characters, adding them to a small kingdom to observe their daily lives and growth. Set in a cozy pixel art world, the game allows players to add friends or fictional characters as villagers, with hundreds of combinations for customizing appearance, eye color, and job. Characters start as initial roles like maid, scamp, villager, egg, or student, evolving into related jobs as their skill level increases. The game emphasizes a relaxed, cute atmosphere, where players watch villagers wander, trigger events, and manage the kingdom's prosperity (Sparkle). The developer notes this is their first free patron-supported game, encouraging support via Patreon or Ko-fi. Known issues and future updates include map expansion and bug fixes.
Core gameplay revolves around character management and kingdom simulation. Players create new villagers, customize their names, colors, eyes, and jobs, then observe them wandering on the main map. The game features two event types: normal events and special events. Normal events are randomly triggered by villagers, displayed as scrolling text at the bottom of the screen, increasing the kingdom's Sparkle. Special events come in four types: Chicken Fairy, Egg Fairy, Undead Fairy, and Grim Reaper, each with unique effects that may cost Sparkle. Players use WASD or arrow keys to move the map and mouse over villagers for info. The main map interface includes event type selection, event initiation button, Sparkle display, villager list access, and event replay. The villager list allows searching, viewing, and editing villagers, while the villager mini-menu offers detailed customization like skill level adjustment and role evolution management. The goal is to nurture villagers into advanced roles and maintain kingdom prosperity.
The game uses keyboard and mouse controls. Map movement: Use WASD keys or arrow keys (up, down, left, right) to navigate the main map. Mouse interactions: Hover over villagers to see their names; click villager buttons to open the mini-menu; click event buttons to trigger normal or special events. Interface controls: On the main map, press A to change special event type, B to start a special event, F to go to the villager list, G to replay the last event text, and H to generate a normal event. In the villager list, use the search bar (A) to type names for filtering, click exit button (B) to close search, click villager button (C) to open the mini-menu, press D to return to the main map, and click E to create a new villager. In the villager mini-menu, type to change the villager's name (16-character limit), adjust skill level (B), click C to save and close, click D and E to change color and eyes, click F to change role (select initial roles for evolution), and hold G to delete the villager.
