Tactical Assassin is a classic web-based shooting game released in 2007. Players take on the role of a professional sniper carrying out high-risk assassination contracts. Each mission comes with a detailed briefing that outlines objectives, target descriptions, and restrictions. Failure to follow the briefing, such as alerting guards or harming civilians, results in mission failure. The game is known for its minimalist stick-figure art style and challenging, tactical gameplay. As the first entry in the Tactical Assassin series, it paved the way for sequels like Tactical Assassin 2 and Tactical Assassin: Substratum.

The game is mission-based, with each mission having primary and secondary objectives, such as eliminating specific targets, protecting allies, or avoiding detection. Players aim and shoot using the mouse, taking into account factors like target movement and timing. Some missions have time limits or unique constraints. Accuracy is critical — missed shots can cause panic and mission failure. As the game progresses, tasks become more complex, introducing multiple targets, moving enemies, and tighter time windows. There is no save system, so failing a mission requires restarting from the beginning of the chapter.
